Last night at The Brisbane Hotel was one of the best gigs I have ever damn seen. Absolutely mighty band. I am gobsmacked.

really behind the 8 ball here but I've been in Skyrim.
The only comment I really want to throw in here is that Kitchen's Floor should have been rated a lot higher, because after many of the highly disposable acts lauded in this list are gone, their albums will be noted as works by a band that got punk right in 2010, 2011, wil again in 2012.
Royal Headache - look, I want to like them, I do, but a great singer doesn't make up for pedestrian songwriting.
and Lost Animal shoulda rated higher.

I liked it. I think Richie wanted to be devestated, and it was just part of his coming out process. Nothing more, nothing less. And he becomes the hero of the story, in a traditional sense: he is transformed and empowered. it's really subtle, but apologising to Hector is a transformation: right then and there, he makes a decision to be in control of his life, not have secrets and own his mistakes. it was so slight, so undramatic - not yelling, no tears, you miss it because it works so hard to not use the cliches of television.
yeah, it was good TV. I have to say the best episode was Manoli, and the Lex surprised the hell out of me, but it was all good really. Voiceover was lame but I was so held by other things, I didn't care. I like the TV show for being more humane and having more hope than the book does, just because I like to think redemption might be possible for some in life, even if that is fiction really.
