My boyfriend and I - big, white, blonde Australian folk - were in Japan a couple of months ago and encountered racism. We went to 'love hotel hill' to stay in a crazy novelty room for fun, 'love hotel hill' is a section of Shibuya (where Lost in Translation is set).

We went to heaps of love hotels before we got a room, each hotel told us they would not take us because we were not Japanese. They had signs up saying 'If you cannot have a conversation in Japanese you cannot stay here'. It really upset me, particularly as it was 1am and we had nowhere to sleep. I don't know why our money wasn't doing the talking ...

Hear here heyre! This is all turning into a big pack of lies. They were very joyful and cute, and the crowd were really pleased to be there. I ended up really close to the front and everyone was dancing and singing and cheering. At the end I turned around to see a sea of happy faces behind me, there was no clear-out at all. Stop being haters. The music isn't amazing but it is fun.

Admittedly I wouldn't have gone if I didn't have a free ticket. But I was really pleased I went, I left feeling upbeat and elated - mainly because of the rush of being in a bopping, cheering crowd. A Merry Monday.

I walked out of my front door when I was talking on the phone a few weeks ago and could see directly into the window of the house opposite mine. All lights on, window open, topless woman standing in front of me. She had a really beautiful body too.

I felt like such an accidental voyer. I think she saw me because the light went out soon after... maybe because of my stage whisper into the phone 'There is a naked woman across the road!!!!'.

They say that introverts need time alone to revive their energy levels, even if they like being social. And extroverts get energised by those around them. Sounds like a lot of people in this thread are introverts ... makes sense.
