Not directly Socceroos-related but I went and watched Laos defeat Cambodia in the first round of World Cup qualifying yesterday. Down 2-4 from the away leg, Laos eventually prevailed 6-2 after extra time and 8-6 on aggregate. Was refreshing to watch a match largely free of ego...which just so happened to translate into reckless abandon. I certainly got my money's (or free ticket's) worth! Next up - China...

Yep, LE in Taree was so much better than Sanity. It used to stock Drum Media, actually had an 'alternative' section (I remember feeling outraged when Evanescence popped up in there) and, best of all, you could use the centralised website to order stuff in - many albums had multiple entries listed at all sorts of prices. I remember ordering stuff like Sigur Rós' Ágætis byrjun and McLusky's McLusky Do Dallas for around $17 when the going price was about $30 (a big deal for me back then) - the staff cottoned on to my cost-cutting ways and used to give me dirty looks during my lunchtime jaunts.

I was a bit of a collector back then. There were seriously no other options during my teenage years, barring a trip to Newcastle (2 hrs away). And I turned out OK!
