hosies tavern, opposite flinders street station, flinders street, near the corner of elizabeth.
they also have ping pong.
why didn't i ask this before I went to Melbourne?
I saw someone get kicked out of hosies on friday night. He was a middle aged pissed bloke who punched a bin after he was tossed out onto Elizabeth St. The only words I could understand in his vocab was ''Fuck You Cunt!!''.
I later remembered something a mate of mine had told me. He said.... ''Marz don't ever go into hosies. It's a titty bar for criminals''.
My mate may or may not be a huge bogan with a love for metal.
i was asked politetly to leave on friday.
and i didn't punch the rubbish bin, i kicked the shit out of it.
i collected a total of 7 ping pong balls this night.
in that pool hall on brunswick street
the arthouse cos they have galaga too
Monsters of Rock! genius table
I heard there was a place in the city that was pinball machines only
on jtv the other day they did an interview with darren hanlon at a pub somewhere that had heaps of pinball machines but didn't say where they actually were. does anyone know?

Twilight Zone, Guns N Roses, Elvira, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Indiana Jones, two Star Trek: The Next Generation, Adams Family (the bestselling machine of all time)... a few others. two floors of pinball
monsters of rock!!
good on you. nice head.
Can someone recommend me some good ones in melbourne?
I'm gonna write some reviews for a zine. I have rediscovered my childhood love for this game and am fast on track to becoming a pinball nerd.
I spent a whole night in the CBD a couple of weeks ago looking fer pinball... even tried the arcades on russell- they don't have ANY!!!!! Seems like Fitzroy is pinball central these days...

Iron Man at The PublicBar now. Good.
Albion Charles has Rolling Stones - excellent condition. There's something irritating about Jagger moving across the playfield. Certainly a game of chance.
Stolberg Café in Preston has Monster Bash - and it's a ripper, though the left flipper is too weak and has trouble completing the ramp on the right side of the playfield...who cares, it's MB and its' an incredible pin...
Peacock hotel has Scared Stiff and AC/DC..
Guess you is unemployed?
guess you? wtf? who...
This ain't Melbourne, but the Southside Tea Room in Brisbane has a Ted Nugent machine. AMAZING.
Lyman Sheats is my idle
wish I could play a Fireball pinball again, my favourite one as a kid, haven't seen it around in many a moon
this thread inspired me to relive it's greatness

The Fox in Abbotsford has The Shadow..
If ya can deal with the mug of Alec Baldwin on the backglass, it's alright...
OMG i have always wanted to play that! The dagger dividing the ramp and the upper playing field look rad.
Ted Nugent was at the Empress last a checked (actually months ago).
You should play The Shadow kuvasz!
Hey, does anyone know where I can play Twilight Zone or Judge Dredd?
I cracked up playing Monster Bash the other day with the audio that goes something like ''Mmmmm, that minty formaldehyde smell.''
Almost as good as ''Hey you, with the face!'' (Funhouse)
Or, ''Stick it in there.'' (Scared Stiff)
Pinball rules.
''Hey you, with the face!'' is from Cyclone, dammit....
Twilight zone is at the Marquee of Lorne. The last Judge Dredd I saw was at the bowling alley around QV and melbourne central (on londsale?). Was on the pin finder app. I went to play The Shadow the other day but there were too many (not very good) pool players. Both LOTR at bimbos and Iron man at Public bar have replays at 12 million. Very managable. Replays ahoy.
Cool. Though the last time I've been at Marquis of Lorne they haven't had Twilight Zone functional. They had it there, not plugged in at the back amongst renovations. Anyone been there since?
Gotta download this pin finder app. I'm on the pinball forum for AussieArcade but this app seems better for finding pins...
Iron Man is a cracker, but the slingshots are brutal on that..
Twilight was up and running when i was there two weeks ago. The Marquee went bad though. The machine is wasted there.
That Iron Man game at the Public Bar is so good. It's easy to play without it being boring. It hands out the credits too.
Thanks for the help kuvasz!
Played Twilight Zone recently and it's really good. Agree on Marquis of Lorne, though.
Another classic monster bash quote ''My favourite colour, cadaver white.'' hehe. I play pinball these days because of the humour - some of it is fantastic.
I played a pinball machine the other day in Brisbane that had a roadworker theme. It was great - the machine shakes to the sound of a jackhammer..
I was having stacks of fun with Arabian nights at NSC. Unfortunately the ball kept getting stuck. It gets quite zappy and with the LED conversion it can put you off a bit. I have never got a replay on this machine. gah!
I now have a pinny avatar!

The Retreat on Sydney road has Twister. I am going to say this is far worse than The Shadow back glass. The Shadow is so great to play. Again i was cursed with the worst pool players ever being all in the way.
HAHA! That backglass looks ridiculous. Not sure if it's worse than the Shadow though. I mean, The Shadow's one was so shit they made an alternative backglass for it -
I love Arabian Nights, one of my favourites.
Anyone played Bride of Pinbot? Is it as good as it looks?
