A general thread on all things twee. Your definition my vary from mine - i don't have much of the c68 stuff. Spend the morning listening to the Raylenes, Belle & Sebastian, early Architecture in Helsinki, Boy Least Likely To and Saturday Looks Good To Me... but i need more, more, MORE twee pop!
recomendations?

i recommend that you stop encouraging them.
newmeatloaf to thread... sliced bread almost count, actually. Jens Lekman as well... anything on Candle Records (RIP)
this looks twee
Sarah Records
THE END
Also - you could check out my thread which kind of died...
Heavenly. Though they mainly just annoy the hell out of me.
Do you have ''One, Two, Twee''?
Gorky's Zygotic Mynci
no, i don't. where would i find it?
i've got some Moldy Peaches and old Calvin Johnson stuff, which is technically twee... but a bit rougher/dirtier then i usually like
on the internets
I don't like it though.
Hmmm. This is making me reconsider whether I even like twee.
the Talulah Gosh > Heavenly > Marine Research > Tender Trap lineage could be a fruitful journey for you.
bring on the twee-electro in 2008
please don't remind me of AiH's Great Betrayal, dicko
Polyphonic Spree
Minus Story
Los Campesinos
I'm from Barcelona
Danielson
Not a fan of all those, but they fit the twee-pop description.
Polyphonic Spree are great... bit more wide-scale then what i'm thinking but i dig them. i'll check out the rest of those!
Danielson is the best in that list. You'll love him and his family because they're even more Christian than Sufjan Stevens.
check out the skatterbrain.org blog.
I think a lot of that Swedish prettiness fits in here. Juni Jarvi is rather nice -do listen.
If you want to research some earlier stuff, I recall Heb posted some good links in the C86 thread.
the brunettes is about as twee as i will go.
they're a fun band...they're about as twee-dance as i will go, actually
Postcard Records

rebirthing this thread.
Anyone heard The Pocketbooks? perhaps too twee for words, but I've heard a few cracking tunes of late. Kinda B&S lite.
Has anyone mentioned The Hidden Cameras? Super twee and great.
LOVE both those bands; The Pocketbooks and Hidden Cameras. This thread is tops. Discovered some fantastic stuff via here.
down trou...here's a great spot for you to explore (can't remember if i already linked it here).....
Take The Pills!
Thanks Psyclops! Rad stuff there for sure...
The members of Pocketbooks (or at least Emma, Daniel and Ian) are regulars on the London indiepop scene. Ian (the bassist) co-ran a night named Spiral Scratch here for a while.
Everything outside of that Sarah Records stuff is mostly horrible. I can only really stomach The Softies and maybe some Camera Obscure but most of it is beyond gay.
best you head back to to the ball sniffers thead then tago (once you're done watching the boring old cricket).
The heavily Tullycraft influenced fresh Melbourne folks Peter Dickybird are rather delightfully twee
Celestial make a sparkling guitar pop sound. It's roots are firmly planted in the early days of Creation records and Sarah Records. Back in the days when a 7'' record was something to be cherished and pop music was a thing of beauty. Celestial understand the classic pop song.
Great stuff, albums called Dream On.
Did you write that Earl? That brought a tear to my eye.
Celestial are from Sweden, right?
thread bump (more like a gentle touch on the arm of the argyle cardigan)
This?
Actually this will work
Anyone like Dolly Mixture?
Their stuff is out-of-print.
I really want to get the boxset Everything And More, at least digital. Can't buy them legally though.
I downloaded their only studio album (27 trks!) but want more.

Beat Happening seem twee to me - probably the lyrics as much as anything (not that I know anything about twee.. or anything else...).
Get some My Little Airport up ya
Awwwww My Little Airport!
Me and them go way back. Harbour Records represent!
Anyone got a copy of Dolly Mixture's Everything And More boxset?
I'm happy to pay for digitals of CD2 and 3
