just wanted to make a thread about a band I like, that don't have a thread
great shoegazey band, comparsons to Deerhunter et al, fronted by Jana Hunter who has a really interesting voice (she has released some solo stuff on Devendra's label, as well as collaborations with Phosporescent and CocoRosie)
Lower Dens released Twin Hand Movement in 2010, which is a really great album
check out the song Rosie

new album 'Nootropics' coming out in May, first song from it has come out recently, called 'Brains'
you can see the vid on their site - http://lowerdens.com/
or just listen here - http://soundcloud.com/ribbonmusic/lower-dens-brains

despite looking like total dipshits in that photo i really dig their tunes
only really started listening to them in the last couple of weeks, was going through the list of bands playing Primavera and checking stuff out
really like Twin Hand Movement, brilliant album
i need to check out her solo stuff
jana looks great!! i used to have some of her solo stuff. beach house ripped her singing style, ha
great band. great roadtrip soundtrack.
hanging out for the new, must be around soon
Try and hunt out their Channel 4 (UK) special ''Abbey Road Debuts'' with Tom Ravenscroft from April / May 2011
A track from it is on Soundcloud
Was hoping to see them in a month or so but the show is now sold out
siiick thanks for the link HEB
Nootropics has leaked
Had a listen on the way to work this morning, very nice
cheers!
want
nootropics is out today
we will all be lining up at our record stores getting them confused with lower plenty
Nice band.
is twin hand movement available in any stores locally?
I've seen it in Polyester Fitzroy
yep, I got it from Greville a few weeks back
thanks kids. x
Going to see them tonight. Have heard nothing. Will let you know!
Some bits were great. Other bits flat. It was orrite. Bought the record on the strength of the good bits.
where'd you see them hyperfuzz?
Mercury Lounge, NYC.
really keen to see them at Primavera, i hope the clashes aren't too severe!
i'm not feeling the new record, but they played some oldies at sxsw. definitely check them magoo!
Really liking Nootropics. Good sound.
regret missing them at sxsw., but i think i was eating an awesome burger instead, so, y'know... swings and roundabouts.
lalz. story of my sxsw. so many sets missed because of delicious food.
Nootropics is the definition of a grower i think, really liking it now
Great production, quite dark at times
I'm digging this too. I have two bands in my playlist starting in 'lower'. It's annoying me more than it should.
