– Jessica Says cameos in the clip for ‘Tonight’, the candid opening track from Emma Russack’s debut solo album Sounds Of Our City (“Tonight I’m gonna go out/Get drunk/And find someone to take me home”). For fans of red lippie and slo-mo. Album out now through Spunk.
– Melbourne beatmaker Crumbs (aka Agents of Abhorrence drummer and Brain Children member Max Kohane) will release his full-length debut, Maidenhair, through Sensory Projects this Friday (April 20). In advance, here’s a psychedelic NSFW clip for ‘Love Snack’, a collaboration with //This Thing// Collective co-founder Dylan Michel aka Wooshie.
– A song influenced by “the desire to take life by the balls and twist until the juices flow” deserves a clip featuring Sesame Street’s Ernie in the midst of a breakdown, right? Shady Lane aka Sydney musician Jordy Lane (not to be confused with this guy) has directed, filmed, edited and puppeteered the video for ‘Convenient Face Hinge’, the wonderfully titled second single from new album Built Guilt. It’s out on May 18 through Rice Is Nice.
– If there were any doubts as to Kiwi transplants King Cannons working-class roots and/or undying love for The Clash they’re dispelled in three-and-a-half minutes of wharf establishing shots, declaratory choruses and heavily gelled hair. 'Too Young' is the first taste of the band’s debut album, which will be out through EMI in mid-2012. Read our in-studio piece with King Cannons here.

That King Cannons clip is right near my work. Just around the corner from where a prostitutes body was found a few months ago.
