Sugar Mountain Adds Dirty Projectors, Lower Plenty, More

Sugar Mountain has unveiled a second round of acts so good, it’s like another whole festival stacked on top of the first one. Joining the previously announced gems are Brooklyn iconoclasts Dirty Projectors (pictured), bubblegum brats Hunx and His Punx, “humble and understated” Boomgates, indie-R&B super-duo Brothers Hand Mirror (Oscar & Martin’s Oscar Vincente Slorach-Thorn and HTML Flowers’ decidedly male Grant Jonathon Gronewold), the ever-pining Collarbones, lovable Sydney producer Jonti and those casual geniuses Lower Plenty.

For those keeping score, that's a Sugar Mountain return for Collarbones, who played the first one in 2011. Melbourne electronic duo Naysayer and Gilsun will also curate a one-off audio-visual experience, and synth act Forces will collaborate with choreographer Antony Hamilton (Chunky Move, Australian Dance Theatre), with the visual arts program to be announced later this month.

Sugar Mountain goes down Saturday, January 19. Tickets are on sale now. Full music line-up below.

Are we all convinced yet that this is unmissable?

Hunx should be supported by Jack Mannix and a Lee Gambin spoken word set....
