haha. We have been trying to get our property manager to sort out more important things (like getting our meters split so that our power doesn't' get disconnected) for a very long time. Problem is, our property manager deals with commercial property and doesn't give a toss about us. I'd rather try and take action myself than wait for them to even respond to our calls/emails.

I don't actually think we do have rights to that area - pretty sure it's in the shops lease, not ours. That said, its actually our front entrance so we do use it.

I have already called the real estate. The shop owner went bust, left all his shit behind. The people leasing the property have no need for the back area so don't care about the fact that it's there, and the real estate aren't going to do anything that they don't have to - they told me that they would remove all of the junk that the previous tenant left behind, and they got rid of about 50% of it. seems like that this was ''too hard basket'' so it got let behind.

I think it's actually full of grease, TheBastard. Too scared to look! might try gumtree though... maybe someone is into that kind of thing...

I couldn't leave that enormous thing on the street...I'd feel awful. Plus, I don't think we can move it and even if we coudl I can't dump it anywhere - we live in a commercial zone so there's no nature strips or even unused sidewalk (a LOT of foot traffic at all times of the night).

many many years ago one of the members of Telecom (I have no idea which one) was kind enough accompany an extremely drunken woolfat on a rather long walk home after we had both been waiting for a cab for about an hour outside Pony. Very gentlemanly. Thanks for that, probably the kindest thing a random stranger has done for me. Considering I was so drunk it could have been a potential disaster had I walked myself home.
