i hope you didn't get hurt when it snapped out. do you run it cross-chained a lot, or not clean and regrease it often?

that said, i know guys that have had chains break in the first few weeks of use (assumedly flawed) and others that have broken them through extreme efforts of strength, normally doing intervals or sprinting climbs.

ok maybe a bit of hate. your bars shouldn't be narrower than your shoulders, and reducing the number of positions for your hands increases upper body fatigue. plus it's hard as shit to climb on narrows

i've tried one out, they're about as useful as track drops on the street - ie. one useable position that really isn't suited to your riding anyway. not hating, just stating

atmo peugots cost more than they are worth, and french-threading can be a bitch

but gumtree/ quokka/ ebay are yr best bets. you can also pick up old roadies around the end of semester from uni billboards etc
