He was a teacher. I also went there as a student when he taught there.

A teacher at school crashed her car because she left the handbrake off. She was out at lunch and came back, got out of her car to take the witches hat that was reserving her place and the car slowly went backwards and ran into a few other cars. The best thing about it was that I happened to see the whole thing on herky jerk CCTV not five minutes after it happened. The best part was the freeze frame of her diving horizontally into her car.

A kid set fire to one of the trees on the oval one recess. This prompted every kid in the school to come down and watch it unfold. The janitor drove across the oval in his car with fire extinguishers spilling out the back as he skidded to a halt. It was hilarious.

At my dad's school one of his colleagues had a spat With the principal he got so angry about it that he went back to the office and wrote in lighter fluid ''smith is a cunt'' then set fire to it. It was my dad's job to dispose of it. This he did by bribing the janitor. He and I went to his house one weekend and I wondered why were at the Eastern European refugees house. It was a strange place with and above ground swimming pool and his wife who have me awesome sweets and soft drinks.

We took photos of the worst kids in the year level at the end of one year while they were holding up a number. We didn't tell them why we were doing it (just to psyche them out). The really bad kids didn't bat an eyelid, I guess they thought it was just a vision of their future. The not so bad ones freaked the fuck out, one even thought his details were going to be passed on to the local police station.

I'm watching the Nostradamus kid and it's really quite good. Very evocative of the 1950s in Australia. It's a great youth film. The actors actually look like they did in the 50s, not a revivalist version of the era.
